A long-running teacher in the Kilkenny school has taken up the position

Kilkenny school announces appointment of new principal

Loreto Kilkenny has confirmed the appointment of Ms Marian Moran as the school's new principal.

Earlier this year it was announced that outgoing principal Colm Keher would join the Joint Managerial Body Secretariat of Secondary Schools (JMB). - READ MORE HERE

Ms Moran, a native of Kildare, began her teaching career in Presentation College Athenry , where she taught for one year before joining the staff of Loreto Kilkenny as a teacher of History and Geography in 2007.

The Kildare native was appointed Deputy Principal in St Brigid’s College, Callan in 2013, before returning to Loreto in 2017.

"As Deputy Principal she has fulfilled the role with great energy, dedication and care over the past years," a school spokesperson said.

"Ms Moran is deeply committed to all aspects of school life and is especially passionate about the holistic development of every student. She values the school’s strong ties with the local community and is enthusiastic about continuing to strengthen these connections," they continued.

"We wish Ms Moran every success as she begins her leadership journey as Principal of our school."
