Pictures: 'Great sense of pride' as Presentation Kilkenny celebrates Leaving Cert results

'Results show consistent excellence across a wide range of subjects'

Staff and students at Presentation Secondary School in Kilkenny are celebrating another set of excellent Leaving Cert results

Principal Shane Hallahan said the results have brought a great sense of pride and celebration to the school community.

"This year’s outcomes reflect the dedication of students and teachers, with results showing consistent excellence across a wide range of subjects," he said.

A remarkable 35% of students achieved over 500 CAO points, placing them in a highly competitive position for third-level courses nationwide. At the very top, several students scored over 600 points, an exceptional accomplishment that highlights both talent and commitment.

"This year saw an extraordinary achievement, with three students - Morette Aylward, Katie Scriven, and Beth Keoghan - securing the maximum 625 CAO points. Reaching a perfect score is a rare accomplishment, reflecting years of hard work, dedication, and resilience. Their results stand as an inspiration to the entire school," said the principal.

"Among these outstanding achievers was Morette Aylward, who not only attained 625 points but achieved an unprecedented eight H1s. By doing so, she now adds her name to a prestigious list of Presentation students who have reached this pinnacle of academic success. Morette, who served as Pres Girl last year, has been an exemplary leader and role model in the school. Her achievement represents not only years of commitment but also one of the finest academic records in the school’s history.

"The success story of this year does not end with the traditional Leaving Certificate. Students in the Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) programme also achieved exceptional results, with 16 students awarded Distinctions. Remarkably, Amelia Fidali and Aoibhe Lawlor each secured 100% overall in their LCA results - a rare and extraordinary accomplishment that deserves the highest praise.

"These results highlight the strength and diversity of achievement across all pathways, ensuring that every student, regardless of route, is empowered to reach their full potential. As a school, we are immensely proud of the Class of 2024/25. Every student has something to celebrate, and these results reflect not only their determination but also the dedication of teachers and the invaluable support of families. We extend our warmest congratulations and wish each student continued success as they embark on the next stage of their journey."
