The Board of Management of Castlecomer Community School have applied for planning permission to Kilkenny County Council for a special education classroom extension to the existing school.
The proposed works include the construction of a new roof and glazed structure over existing external yard area, associated adjustments to existing building and all associated siteworks at the North Kilkenny school.

The planning application was received on September 29, and a decision is expected from the local authority in the coming weeks.
