The future is in good hands with the students who took part in this year’s Youth Leadership Awards at the Rotary Club of Kilkenny.

This year students from seven schools took part, with Rory O’Reilly from Christian Brothers’ College named the winner by the judging panel of Kilkenny Rotary President Sian Moloughney, Jason Dempsey, Kilkenny Rotary, and Paula Harte, Kilkenny Volunteer Centre.

Announcing the winner, Sian Moloughney said all those who took part were excellent candidates who made the decision difficult for the judges. She thanked all the Rotary volunteers who carried out school interviews and the teachers who support the competition every year.

Rory will represent Kilkenny in the regional final of the competition, this year held in Kilkenny, next month. The overall winner will travel to the European Parliament as part of an international student group.
