Glenmore National School recently welcomed Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion, Michael Moynihan for a ceremonial opening of our new classrooms.
The school opened two new autism classes in September 2025 in an effort to cater for the lack of school places available for children with autism. Both classes are full, with some of the pupils travelling from as far as Waterford each day.

The addition of the classes have been an outstanding success to date and have had such a positive impact on the entire school community.
Principal, Ms Laura Kelly commented “We are absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to open two autism classes here in our school. We believe that positivity and inclusivity go hand in hand and here in Glenmore N.S, our children experience both. We are so fortunate that due to our small class sizes, all the children know each other really well, relationships are being formed for all pupils throughout the school. Ar scath a cheile, a mhaireann na daoine - The future certainly looks bright for Glenmore National School."
