Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny marked a significant milestone in the educational and spiritual life of the community, celebrating Presentation Day Mass in the newly-completed school building.
This year’s celebration held particular importance, commemorating 225 years of Presentation presence in Kilkenny and honouring the enduring legacy of Nano Nagle and the Presentation Sisters.
The Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Dan, with Fr Scriven and Fr Paul. They offered a deeply meaningful reflection on Nano Nagle’s journey, mission, and unwavering commitment to education and social justice.

A number of Presentation Sisters — Sr Kathleen, Sr Maura, former principal of Presentation Primary, Sr Margarita, former principal of Presentation Secondary, Sr Concepta, Sr Helen, former principal of Presentation Secondary, Sr Anne Marie Quinn, Presentation Provincialate, Sr Patricia Wall, Sr Joy Puerta, Sr Nuala, Sr Teresa, Sr Eileen, Sr Mary,and Sr Kathleen Meagher — also attended, bringing a sense of continuity and heritage to the occasion.

Their presence served as a reminder of the generations of Sisters who dedicated their lives to nurturing faith, learning, and opportunity for young people in Kilkenny.
RECOGNISED
As part of the celebration, the school formally recognised students who achieved the highest grades in both the Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate examinations.
These awards were presented during the ceremony, acknowledging the exceptional academic dedication of students and the commitment of staff who support and guide them throughout their studies. The recognition of these outstanding achievements was especially fitting in ceremony rooted in the Presentation ethos of excellence, compassion, and service.
