Evergreen B did go down to 10 men with a late sending off for Sean Maher for two yellow cards on the 96th minute but it had little bearing on the result.
EVERGREEN 5-0 LIONS - Evergreen maintained their unbeaten run in the St Canice’s Credit Union Premier Division with a five star second half performance against Lions.
Gary Maher’s side didn’t have it all on their own way though, only leading by a single goal at half-time before the floodgates opened in the resulting 45 minutes.
The home side mustered up five different scorers in what was a professional win. Mikey Drennan, Andrew Wall, Dean Cornally, Mikey Clifford and David Grincell all found the net to leave little doubt of the result.

NEWPARK 3-1 THOMASTOWN UTD - Newpark recorded their first win of the season with an impressive home defeat of a Thomastown United who have conceded a worrying 20 goals this season.
Newpark broke the deadlock just after the 10th minute as Alex Molloy, the brother of intercounty hurler and former Ormonde Villa player Jordan found the target.
Steven Connolly drew the teams level just under 10 minutes later as the Grennan team went in search of their second win of the campaign, after winning a nine goal thriller against Callan last time out.
But, to the contrary, it was the Premier Division new boys who were the hungriest for the win and their first three points on their third attempt this season. Joey Mulcahy restored the home team’s advantage in first half stoppage time before Alex Molloy sparked back into life in the final 15 minutes of play. Molloy found the target for the second time on the 75th minute and could have had a glorious hat-trick 13 minutes later, but failed to convert the spot kick on what was an otherwise well received three points.

FORT RANGERS 5-3 CALLAN UTD - Many people’s dark horses for the Premier Division title responded well to the setback of a narrow loss to Evergreen last weekend with a thrilling eight goal victory over a spirited Callan team in Cuffesgrange.
The away side, fresh after losing out in a cracking 5-4 loss to Thomastown, played their part in yet another cracker, but once again left with no points as they remain without a win to their name.
Fort Rangers made the better start and were 2-0 up inside 10 minutes as Daniel Kenny and Ryan Maguire gave the home support reason to cheer. Well, not for long... just a mere 60 seconds after Maguire’s goal, Ronan Lavelle hit back for Callan to leave them just a goal adrift.
The two goal margin was restored five minutes later courtesy of a Maguire penalty and not for the first time this season, the Callan defence was carved apart yet again two minutes into the new half as a smart Robbie Hayes ball carved open an opportunity for Ryan Maguire to bag his hat-trick and perhaps wrap up the three points (4-1).
Not on Sunday though as Callan to their credit lived up to the cliche of ‘never giving in’ and pulled two goals back from Lavelle (hat-trick) and Jack Canavan on the 57th and 61st minutes but ultimately could never capture that elusive equaliser as Cian Grace slotted home Fort’s comfort cushion of a fifth goal.
