Eyes on the ball!

The game was one of three played on Sunday (a game had also been played on Friday) as the Kilkenny & District League’s junior soccer season got off to a flying start over the weekend. Freebooters and Thomastown United will be two of the sides expected to challenge Evergreen A for the league title this year, with both sides doing their best to deny the team from the Kells Road a fifth successive Premier Division crown. For the record, ’Booters won Sunday’s game 3-0 thanks to goals from Dessie Hayes (2) and Michael Falsey. Both teams have further matches this Friday and Sunday.
