SOCCER fans will have a chance to go back to school this Summer - and have some fun!
The popular Tommy Jackson Summer Soccer School returns to Kilkenny again. This year’s camp will be held at the Fair Green from July 11 to 15.
The soccer camp will run from 10.30am to 2.30pm daily and is open to boys and girls from seven to 15 years of age. Head coach is Tommy Jackson, a former Manchester United and Everton player, who also coached in Northern Ireland and the League of Ireland.
The camp offers children the chance to develop their soccer skills under qualified coaches. At the end of the week each participant will get a t-shirt and football, as well as daily refreshment.
The camp will close with a series of fun competitions, such as skills and penalty shoot-out, while there will be awards for the Most Improved and Helpful players, as well as for the five-a-side competition. Children who do not win awards will get a commemorative medal to mark their time in the camp.
Children must bring football gear, including boots and runners, as well as warm clothing and a waterproof coat in case of bad weather. Parents are also asked to ensure children have a packed lunch each day, which will be eaten during their supervised break.
The cost of the course is E70. Enquiries to Kevin Byrne, tel 056-7751300, 087-7806937 or 056-7702714.
