The ’Friars roast opposition

Three Friars ladies football team, which is based in South Kilkenny, overcame Moyle Rovers in an exciting junior county championship final in Tipperary at the weekend.

Three Friars ladies football team, which is based in South Kilkenny, overcame Moyle Rovers in an exciting junior county championship final in Tipperary at the weekend.

The Three Fiars girls won by 1-7 to 0-3. Three Friars, who are in their debut season, were allowed enter the Ladies Championship by the Tipperary County Board.

After a series of league and championship matches which included games against Fethard, Thurles, Cahir, Gortnahoo and Moyle Rovers, the Three Friars ladies annexed the Tipperary title.

Claire Kelly, the captain, received the cup on bealf of the team. The team was managed by Paul Whelan and Richie Windle.
