Local councillor Pat Fitzpatrick welcomes Abbott to Kilkenny

Local Councillor Pat Fitzpatrick has warmly welcomed the official opening of Abbott’s new manufacturing facility in 
 Kilkenny by An Taoiseach marking a significant boost for the local economy and community.
The global healthcare leader’s decision to invest in Kilkenny reinforces the region’s reputation as a hub for innovation and business excellence. Abbott’s presence will create numerous job opportunities, strengthen the local economy, and foster partnerships with educational and community organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, Cllr. Fitzpatrick said:
"This is a transformative moment for Kilkenny. Abbott’s investment in our Kilkenny is not just a testament to our economic potential, but also a vote of confidence in our skilled workforce and vibrant community. I are proud to welcome a company that shares our values of innovation and inclusivity."
Cllr. Fitzpatrick highlighted the importance of this development for future generations, noting how Abbott’s presence will encourage the growth of a highly skilled workforce, particularly in the healthcare and technology sectors.
Abbott’s decision to choose Kilkenny also reflects the collaborative efforts of local authorities, development agencies, and community leaders to position the region as a prime destination for global business investment.
