‘Tipping ground’ concerns in Kilkenny

Illegal dumping at the bring bank at Aldi in Ferrybank, County Kilkenny

Councillor Ger Frisby has expressed his anger over purported cases of regular illegal dumping at the bring bank at Aldi in Ferrybank, County Kilkenny.

“The area is becoming a tipping ground for everything,” he told council officials at the most recent meeting of Piltown Municipal District.

“We need more signage and public awareness in the area on the issue. There's 20 or 30 people a week ringing about it.

“The full rigours of the law must also be brought down on those responsible.”

Cllr Frisby added that he would be pushing for CCTV in the area once the relevant legislation is in place.
