In a pre-Christmas tidy up around Tullahought in County Kilkenny, the entrance roads from Skough, Poulrone and Bearntrasna to the village were cleared of the usual cans, plastic bottles, a single Guinness bottle, and fast food wrappers of all types. They were joined by short lengths of bull wire, black plastic, cartridge cases and a pair of wrap around glasses.
The following day a hedge trimmer had revealed more shredded cans.

Twenty-four hours later a large gold coloured vape glistened on the grass margin after it was thrown from a passing car.
With well over 40 recyclable cans and bottles found they had the potential, if they were all in perfect shape, to provide a breakfast or sandwich for a person in need.
