People in Kilkenny shocked after encountering unexpected animal on road

A reader has been in touch to say they have spotted a wallaby on the loose in South Kilkenny.

The springy marsupial was apparently snapped not far from Poulanassy Waterfall in Mullinavat shortly before 6am on Tuesday morning.

It's not the first time there's been reports of this kind of animal seen bouncing around the area. Two years ago, one was seen in the Slieverue area.

In 2012, one was stolen or escaped from Castlecomer Discovery Park. Geansai was being cared for at the Castlecomer Discovery Park when he disappeared along with his older brother Skippy.
