South Kilkenny Beekeepers Association (SKBKA) recently held their first meeting of the year to celebrate the achievements of members throughout 2025.
In Spring 2025, the association welcomed 22 new members to participate in their Beekeeping for Beginners course. Those present on the night received a certificate of completion.
In August 2025, South Kilkenny Beekeepers Association held their annual honey show at the Iverk Show, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny.
Eleanor Attridge judged the exhibits and gave great tips and information to those participating. This feedback is always welcomed by exhibitors as it sets a high standard for honey produce in South Kilkenny. Congratulations were extended to all prize winners at the show.
Bernadette McGrath won gold for Supreme run honey and Peter Walsh won gold for both Supreme Comb honey and most points won at the show.
Bernadette also won second prize for Supreme run honey at the Clonmel honey show and Peter displayed medals and trophies won at various shows throughout 2025.
