Funded by the Creative Ireland Scheme and inspired by the local area, the mural captures key landmarks such as The Pope’s Tower and Ferrybank Grotto and was designed and painted by Street Art Ink, who took on board feedback from public consultation events with local community groups.

Meanwhile, works are continuing apace on the Nore Valley section of the Greenway which will connect Woodstock in Inistioge to the ever growing route is now under way and is currently in Phase 1.

A first public consultation has been completed with a feasibility report in progress and potential route options being explored presently.

Elsewhere, efforts are continuing to identify potential funding streams to advance the Greenway link to Slieverue project and is at the detail design, land acquisition and construction stage.

In Glenmore, Kilgallen & Partners have commenced work on the detail design including procurement of surveys for the area’s future connectivity to the route. Discussions with the relevant parties have recommenced regarding the acquisition of lands required to deliver the project in the area.
