Get ready for Camp Kilkenny!

Camp Kilkenny is a multi-activity camp taking place in the grounds of Kilkenny College.

The camp is for children aged five to 12 years old. At camp children can expect lots of great activities in a fun and safe environment. They will participate in a range of activities to include field games, team work, creativity and practical skills. During camp we’ll also be running a classic sports day with many fan favourite activities including egg & spoon race, three legged race, sack race and more fun activities. 

Children will be grouped with those within the same school class and friends will be placed together where requested.

Camp Kilkenny

Activities will include:

Arts and crafts - drawing, painting, and creative design.

Team sports - rounders, basketball, football, and volleyball, etc.

Individual sports - tennis.

Hockey Express

A number of different camp types will take place at Hockey Express this summer.

Hockey camps for all ages and abilities

Mini Kids Hockey Camps (5-7 Years)

Dates: July 1 - July 5, and August 19 - August 23.

Mini Kids Hockey Camps cater to young hockey players aged 5 – 7 years of age.

This camp caters to players of all levels and abilities. At these camps, the  primary focus is on all players having fun while being immersed in a hockey environment. It will incorporate fundamental hockey skills along with fundamental movement skills in fun games and obstacle courses.

Summer Hockey Camps (7-16 Years)

Dates: July 1 - July 5, and August 18 - August 23.  

These general camps are the most popular camps and cater to players of all abilities and levels from 7 – 16 years. At these camps, participants can expect a high level of advice from the coaching staff, ensuring players leave camp knowing they have gained some valuable information.

Incoming First Year Camps

Dates:  August 12 - August 16.

The Incoming First Year camp has been specifically designed for players transitioning from primary school to secondary school, or those entering a hockey-playing school without any prior hockey experience. Join  this August to build confidence and make new friends before starting hockey in a new school.

Pre-Season Hockey Camps (13-16 Years)

Dates: August 19 - August 23.

These pre-season hockey camps cater to hockey players already competing in full 11 v 11 matches; they may be playing at school, club, Interprovincial, or Irish level. 

The time at camp will be split between on-pitch training sessions and workshops. Areas covered on the pitch will include, Defensive Principles, Attack Principles, Game Preparation, Set Pieces and Game Structures. Topics covered in the workshops will cover fitness testing, strength and conditioning, and stretching. This camp will act as a great pre-season for any player that has not played hockey throughout the summer.
