New Kilkenny hurling captain Eoin Cody
Man of the match in last Sunday's All-Ireland senior club final Eoin Cody has been confirmed as the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Captain for the upcoming season.
Cody notched 1-5 in Shamrocks ninth All-Ireland success and as well as that victory, last October's Kilkenny success grants the club the opportunity to pick the county captain.
Cody takes over from Richie Reid with current club teammates Adrian Mullen, Colin Fennelly, Joey Holden and TJ Reid all captaining Kilkenny in recent years.
TJ Reid will be the vice-captain after captaining Kilkenny on two previous occasions in 2010 and 2019.
While Cody and Reid aren't expected to be available, Kilkenny will kick off their Division 1 Allianz National Hurling League campaign away to Antrim on Saturday week.
