Kilkenny Under 20 side named to face unbeaten Dubs

Senior panelist Gearoid Dunne starts for the Kilkenny Under 20's this afternoon

The Kilkenny Under 20's will round off their round-robin series in the Leinster Championship when hosting Dublin in the first of a double-header at UPMC Nowlan Park this afternoon.

The following senior game rules Timmy Clifford out of contention and while injury has downed Billy Drennan , Under 20 boss Mark Dowling does have Gearoid Dunne available to him in the forward line.

Kilkenny know a win will seal a place in the Leinster Semi-Final and with many complications surrounding the selection of Drennan, Clifford and Dunne, avoiding a possible clash with the senior crunch game with Galway next weekend would be most welcomed.

While Drennan and Clifford are certainly big losses, Mark Dowling has at least been given the bonus of Denis Walsh returning to the matchday squad after enduring an injury plagued couple of months.

The Cats were much improved when seeing off Galway the last day out but they do face a Dublin team that have been very impressive in racking up two victories thus far.

Throw-in for the game is at 4pm
