Kilkenny Camogie team named for All-Ireland Championship opener with Wexford

Kilkenny camogie manager Brian Dowling has picked an experienced starting 15 for this evening's All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship clash with Wexford.

Of the team selected, 12 of the players started last August's All-Ireland Final success over Cork with just Jenny Clifford and sisters Kellyanne and Aoife Doyle coming into the side with the likes of Miriam Walsh and Mary O'Connell unavailable for the season ahead.

The Cats come into the game on the back of a Leinster Championship success last month and with further group games to come against Dublin and Tipperary, they will be eager to make a winning start to the campaign.

The game takes place in UPMC Nowlan Park where there's a 6pm start and it can also be viewed live on the Camogie Association's Youtube Channel.

Kilkenny team to face Wexford- Aoife Norris (Piltown); Michelle Teehan (James Stephens), Grace Walsh (Tullaroan), Tiffany Fitzgerald (Young Irelands); Niamh Deely (James Stephens), Claire Phelan (Lisdowney), Laura Murphy (O'Loughlin Gaels); Steffi Fitzgerald (Young Irelands), Kellyanne Doyle (Piltown); Aoife Doyle (Piltown), Denise Gaule (Windgap), Katie Power (Piltown); Katie Nolan (St Martin's), Julieanne Malone (Mullinavat), Jenny Clifford (Dicksboro).
