A splashing Saturday is in store as the Kilkenny Aqua Canoe Club host an fun open day on the River Nore.
The club will have a special day where people can try their hand at paddling kayaks, canoes, dragon boats and stand up paddle boards. Adults and children are welcome to the open day - safety equipment will be provided. The advice is to wear light sports clothes or a wetsuit (but bring spare clothes as you may get wet).
The club's fun day will run from 12 noon to 3pm, with meet-up at the slipway 500m downstream from John's Bridge.
The cost is €5 for 30 minutes of aquatic fun, with all funds raised going to support the KACC athletes who are travelling to the European Championships in Spain in September and the World Championships in the US in October.
The European team will be captained by Mark Skuce, Irish Polo player of the year 2022, while Kevin O'Connor, David and Alex McClure will be part of the Irish Freestyle kayak team will compete in the USA in October.
