Rally delight for Kilkenny man Dalton

Kilkenny man Richie Dalton from Threecastles and now living in Sydney won the New South Wales Rally Championship in Australia at the weekend.

He was taking part in the final round of the Championship the two day Canberra Rally driving the Bates Motorsport prepared Toyota Yaris AP4.

A very tough event with some tricky conditions to contend with including intense heat and dust but a steady drive saw him saw him secure the Championship. He was very consistent over the year securing three wins and one third place.

The car ran in a new livery since Rally of the Bay in July in a tribute to Irishman and a friend of Richie's the late Craig Breen who died so tragically in a testing accident for Rally Croatia the car carried the Irish colours and was adorned with some of his famous sayings.
