Hewick to be honoured on Thyestes Day

A big crowd expected in Gowran Park later this month

Hewick to be honoured on Thyestes Day

The Shark Hanlon-trained Hewick shocked the racing world when taking the King George VI Chase at Kempton last week. He will be rewarded for those heroics when he is paraded in front of a local crowd on Goffs Thyestes Day at Gowran Park

The horse, who was bought in Goresbridge, is trained by Hanlon who hails from Paulstown. It crowns a wonderful two years after previously winning the Galway Plate and the American Grand National.

It’s fitting that he will be in attendance on Kilkenny’s biggest race day on Thursday, January 25 for what is sure to attract a big attendance.

Tickets for Thyestes Day are now on sale and can be purchased at www.gowranpark.ie
