Kilkenny referee David Connolly has been named in the team of officials for the FAI Cup semi-finals this weekend.
Connolly will be the assistant referee for the clash between Drogheda United and Wexford, which will be held at Weavers Park on Sunday.
The news is a huge appointment for the local game and a first for the Kilkenny branch of the Irish Soccer Referees Society, of which Connolly is a member.
The first semi-final between Bohemians and Derry City is on Friday, with both games live on RTÉ2
