Kilkenny hurling supporters will be in for a real treat in the early weeks of 2025 after the schedule for the revamped Allianz Hurling League was revealed yesterday.
Derek Lyng's Cats are part of a seven team Division 1A campaign that will see them face hard hitters including Munster champions Limerick and All-Ireland winners Clare.
In contrast to other seasons where the league has came in for much criticism, the new structure ensures regular big clashes and with the bottom two going down, getting points on the board early doors will be crucial.
The league semi-finals have also been shelved with the top two meeting in the final and getting there will be the aim for Kilkenny after losing out to Limerick and Clare in the final in the last two seasons.
After losing out to the Banner County in this year's All-Ireland semi-final, Kilkenny will have an early chance for a bit of revenge as they make the trip to Ennis for Clare's first competitive game since winning the Liam MacCarthy Cup in July.
The other two away games will see the Noresiders face Wexford and Cork with both games taking place on Saturday evenings.
On home soil, Kilkenny will have games against Galway, Limerick and Tipperary which should bring big crowds to the Marble city for a couple of marquee clashes at an early part of the season.
Much to look forward to over the next few months!
