Ellen Molloy
Kilkenny's Ellen Molloy has left English Women's Championship side Sheffield United with immediate effect due to personal reasons.
The Sheffield club agreed to a mutual termination of the midfielder's contract and it is expected that the 20 year-old will link up with a National League side upon her return.
Molloy left Wexford for a move to the Bramall Lane based English club last September and made seven appearances in total as well as scoring in the 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City in October.
It's been largely a struggle for both the player and the club with Sheffield United currently one place above the bottom of the Championship table with only one win to date this season and the former Thomastown United player has failed to feature in the matchday squad for the previous three games however due to injury.
She did return to the Republic of Ireland fold brieflly after a two year absence but the same injury curtailed her progress when missing out on the squad for the recent European Championship Playoff defeat to Wales.
