Kilkenny side named for crunch camogie collision with Tipperary

Katie Power will lead out the Kilkenny team this afternoon.

Kilkenny camogie boss Tommy Shefflin has named his side for this afternoon's Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Quarter-Final with Tipperary in Croke Park.

The Cats show two changes to the team that lost out to Galway in the final round of the group stages with Dicksboro's Ciara Phelan replacing Danielle Quigley in defence and Piltown's Sophie Holden getting the nod ahead of Caoimhe Keher Murtagh in attack.

The Noresiders come into the game with a bit of a point to prove after losing twice in Nowlan Park against Waterford and Galway in recent weeks while recent quarter-final defeats to Cork and Dublin are bound to provide huge motivation.

The opposition won three of their four round-robin fixtures with only championship favourites and current holders Cork getting the better of the Premier County.

With the same two counties involved in the hurling afterwards, it's hoped a big crowd from Kilkenny and Tipperary will come in for the early 1.30pm throw-in as the near neighbours look to book the final semi-final spot.

Kilkenny team to face Tipperary- Aoife Norris; Michelle Teehan, Tiffanie Fitzgerald, Ciara Phelan; Niamh Deely, Laura Murphy, Caoimhe Dowling; Aobha O'Gorman, Laura Greene; Mary O'Connell, Steffi Fitzgerald, Sarah Barcoe; Aoife Prendergast, Katie Power, Sophie Holden.
