Muckalee players celebrate after the AIB All-Ireland Ladies Football Club Junior Club Championship final match between Cromane of Kerry and Muckalee of Kilkenny at Parnell Park in Dublin.
It will go down as one of the greatest days in Kilkenny Gaelic Football history after Muckalee stunned Cromane of Kerry to bring an All-Ireland title back to the county for the first time ever in the code at club level.
Kilkenny camogie star Katie Nolan was the late hero after her stoppage time free sealed a dramatic one point victory.
Nolan scored 10 points in total as she proved a real threat in attack with herself and Kate Purcell excelling against the Kingdom oppposition.
Muckalee had a dream start to the game with another camogie player Laura Greene netting a goal in the opening period and with Purcell and Nolan adding seven points between them, the Kilkenny side looked in a fantastic position when they led 1-7 to 0-5 at the interval.
Cromane were always going to battle back and with Roisin Griffin converting a penalty in the 38th minute, it was game on all of a sudden.
Muckalee soon won a penalty themselves but Nolan was out of luck on this occasion as her effort at goal could oly go between the posts.
She sonn dusted herself down however and when the star forward knocked over another score shortly afterwards for her ninth of the day, the dream result looked within reach as Pat McDowell's team led by five going down the stretch.
1-2 without reply soon rocked the Kilkenny and Leinster champions with Griffin's second major as well as points from Eimear Burke and Mary Ellen McDonnell leaving nothing between them with time almost up.
Muckalee as they've done all year kept going and they weren't to be denied with Nolan landing a close in free to put the seal on a sensational 1-13 to 2-9 victory.
