TJ Reid will captain the Kilkenny senior hurlers for the 2026 season
Shamrocks Ballyhale have nominated TJ Reid as captain and Darragh Corcoran as vice captain for the Kilkenny hurlers ahead of the 2026 inter-county season.
As the defending county champions, the Ballyhale club had the honour of choosing the captain for the year and with the likes of Richie Reid, Adrian Mullen and Eoin Cody donning the accolade in recent years, it looked a pretty obvious choice.
The decision was made at the Shamrocks AGM earlier this week and will see TJ lead the team for the third time in his Kilkenny career after previous spells in 2010 and 2019 where the Cats lost out in subsequent All-Ireland Finals to Tipperary.

Darragh Corcoran has been named as vice-captain after returning to the Kilkenny squad for the upcoming season and he's already been named matchday captain for the Noresiders last two outings.
Kilkenny will belatedly kick off their Walsh Cup campaign when they meet Carlow or Laois on Sunday afternoon where Corcoran is expected to lead the team for the day.
