Ellen Molloy will be hoping her next move will push her towards Republic Of Ireland selection in the future
Ellen Molloy is poised to join Dublin side Shamrock Rovers after the 21 year-old announced her departure from Wexford FC over the weekend.
The news which broke on Friday evening has come as a bit of a shock after the Inistioge star apparently agreed to stay in the Model County only five days earlier.
Molloy who ended last year's National League season as top-scorer and was also named in the team of the year attracted interest from the likes of league champions Athlone Town but it appears that she is Tallaght bound.
The talented youngster rejoined Wexford in 2025 for a second stint after a short spell in England with Sheffield United and with six Ireland caps to her name, she was always going to attract attention be it nationally or further afield.
The first spell at Wexford is where Ellen really came to prominence after she won the 2021 FAI Women's Cup, earning the Player of the Match award in the final. Prior to that, she had won the Young Player of the Year award in 2020, her first full season with the club.

Molloy released the following statement on Instagram as she bids farewell to the South-East side.
"To the club that has given me absolutely everything.
"I came to Wexford at just 14 years of age, young, full of hope, and with so much still to learn. I could never have imagined the journey ahead of me or the incredible people I would meet along the way. From the very beginning, this club became more than just a place to play football, it became a home.
"Over the years, I have grown not only as a player, but as a person. I’ve experienced the highest of highs and the toughest of lows, moments that tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I will carry with me forever.
"This club, and the unbelievable people behind the scenes who give everything day in and day out, believed in me, supported me, and gave me opportunities I will always be grateful for. The memories, friendships, and experiences I’ve gained here mean more to me than words can truly express.
"Thank you, Wexford , for the belief, the lessons, and the moments I will cherish forever. I will always be proud to have worn the badge".
