It was a dramatic afternoon of action in Fenagh as Colaiste Abhainn Ri claimed a narrow victory over Cistercian Roscrea in the Leinster PPS B Senior Hurling Championship Final.
From a debated final scoreline to the beaten side playing more than half the contest with only 14 men, the fare on offer certainly kept the crowd energised at the Carlow venue.
The scoreline issue came about at half-time and even though all of the assembled media in attendance had Roscrea leading 0-6 to 0-5, the match official had the score reading 0-5 apiece and while Callan ended up winning the game regardless, there could have been a big issue had the deficit being even closer.
Even after a look back on the video, all six of Roscrea's first half scores appeared to be greeted by a white flag and this had consequences later on when they went for goals instead of working a point.
The final score has been chalked as a 0-14 to 0-12 in favour of Callan and it remains to be seen if that will remain the case in the coming days.

Added to this, the first half red card to Kilkenny and Thomastown player Oisin Farrell for an incident involving Callan's Dylan Hennessy certainly dented their second half prospects.
Callan won't care about any of those factors however and in a contest that was tightly fought throughout, the winners just had enough to get over the line with Tullaroan player Cathal Russell scoring eight points in total.
Roscrea never went away with Odhran Fletcher also scoring heavily and in a second half that was nip and tuck all the way through, goal chances were going to be key and a sublime save by Jack Kennedy from from a close in Tadhg McKeogh attempt had a big impact on the final result.
That would have edged the Offaly/Tipperary border school in front but Callan survived and with Russell proving ace on placed balls and Noah Cahill and John O'Meara also scoring from play, they held on to claim provincial success.
