“We pride ourselves on the All-Ireland“ - Dowling gearing up for big weekend

St Kieran's manager Brian Dowling

It will be a Super Saturday of action for both Brian Dowling and Richie Ruth as the manager/selector combination guide St Kieran's and the Kildare hurlers into big action.

St Kieran's have an early start of 12.30pm in Toomevara as they take on Loughrea in the All-Ireland Colleges Quarter-Final as they look maintain the form from winning the Leinster title a fortnight ago.

In the aftermath of the victory over Kilkenny CBC, Dowling spoke on what the All-Ireland series means to the school as they look to move a step closer to a St Patrick's Day decider.

“We pride ourselves on the All-Ireland series and there’s a lovely prize of getting to Croke Park at the end of it. There’s only six teams left and everyone wants to try and get to that final and with only two possible games left to get there, we will be doing everything we can to try and make that St Patrick’s Day decider after missing out last year“, the manager added.

Regardless of the result, Dowling and Ruth will then quickly switch their focus as they make the trip to Newbridge for Kildare's Allianz League clash with 2024 All-Ireland winners Clare at 6.30pm as the Lilywhites look to maintain their tier 2 status.

Kilkenny CBC are also in action on Saturday as they meet St Flannan's of Ennis in the other Croke Cup Quarter-Final tie in Bansha at 2pm with Nenagh and Athenry awaiting the two winners in the last four of the competition.
