On Thursday 19th March, three teams representing St Leonards Dunnamaggin competed in the National Volleyball Final in UL Limerick.
206 teams had competed in the competition and 60 reached the Nationals.All three teams competed very well . The boys team, which are still eligible next year, didnt make the play-offs, the girls were unfortunate to be in a very tough group and did well to reach the quarter-finals where a couple of unlucky shots saw them exit at this stage.
The mixed team easily overcame their group opponents and went straight through to the quarter finals.They beat a strong Clerihan team to progress to the semi-final, where their team-work and determination saw them through to the final.
They met a very skillful Claregalway team in the final and had to play some exceptional volleyball to beat them and be crowned All-Ireland Champions, much to the delight of their many supporters and teachers.

Charlie received the cup on behalf of the team and after photos were taken, the bus headed for home with a meal for champions in Supermacs on the way. On arrival home, the team was greeted by a crowd of cheering parents.
