Young golf fans from Kilkenny will have the chance to become the next Rory McIlroy with a new tournament which will sweep across the country.
And where better to start than in their own back yard? Kilkenny's prestigious course at Mount Juliet, will host the opening event.
The all-new five tournament Tour, which is called the Irish Kids Golf Tour, is a five tournament series running in July and August. The competition will comprise of four provincial events and an All-Ireland event to finish.
The age categories will run from under 7 to 13 year olds (boys and girls), with each event a stand-alone single day event.
The website irishkidsgolftour.com will go live tomorrow (Friday) to take bookings into the events.
Confirmed venues are:
Leinster Trophy: Mount Juliet Resort – July 3
Connaught Trophy: Co Sligo GC – July 10
Ulster Trophy: Slieve Russell Resort – July 30
Munster Trophy: Fota Island Resort – August 3
All Ireland Trophy: Headfort GC – August 18
Entry into the event is €25 ( excluding booking fee €1.50)
