St Kieran's through for shot at Leinster double

A goal from Adrian Mullen 90 seconds after half time set up league champions, St Kieran's College for a good win over St Peter's College (Wexford) in this lively and well contested Leinster post primary schools senior hurling championship semi-final in Enniscorthy today.
The ball broke after play had been restarted with a throw-in on the losers '20' line, and the Ballyhale Shamrocks player steered it along the ground before flicking it to the net from the edge of the square to push Kieran's 2-6 to 1-6 ahead.
On the Kilkenny side drove. Before St Peter's added to their interval total with a 50th minute point from Ben Stafford, the opposition had 2-10 on the 'board so it was more or less game over at that stage.
Peter's had a chance of a goal from a penalty earlier, but their good free taker, Ross Banville, who scored 1-5 in the first half, crashed the effort against the right upright.
The losers opened backed by the wind, but it was St Kieran's who made the early gains. Eoin Cody shot a point after two minutes. That drew a reply from Banville before David O'Carroll crashed home a goal for Kieran's.
The Kilkenny lads were never headed during this half, and at the break the teams were together at 1-6. Mullen's early second half goal swung the issue, however.
St Kieran's now face Dublin North in the final with a chance of completing the League/Championship double in Leinster.
SCORERS: St Kieran's College - Aadrian Mullen (1-4); Eoin Cody (0-4); David O'Carroll (1-1); Eoin O'Shea, Daithi Barron (0-2 each). St Peter's College - Ross Banville (1-6); Jake Nobbs (1-0); Philip Dempsey, Ben Stafford (0-1 each).
