Runners of all ages and abilities will flock to Danesfort to try their hand at the best 10km in Ireland this month!
Now in its seventh year, the J.J. Reddy Run returns to the Kilkenny countryside on Sunday, September 16 the event features 5km and half-marathon options as well as the 10km, which was voted the top event of its kind in the Running In Ireland Awards.
The Run is now a major event on the race calendar for athletes in Kilkenny and beyond. Athletes from across the country have already signed up for the half marathon and have proven popular with people preparing for the Dublin City Marathon in October.
Featuring chip timing, cash prizes, water stops and complimentary post-race refreshments the race caters for everyone from the most serious runner to the casual walker. There are also spot prizes and a monster raffle on the day.
All half marathon runners will receive a souvenir J.J. Reddy Danesfort Run half marathon technical running t-shirt. All chipped race finishers (half marathon, 10km and 5km) will get a bespoke J.J. Reddy Danesfort Run Medal and a Race Goodie Bag. A family fun run will also take place on the day with a kiddies medal and goodie bag for finishers.
The action centres on the grounds of Danesfort GAA club, which will house an onsite DJ and festival-style tented village featuring local producers, clubs and service providers.
With easy access to the start/finish for visitors either out the N10 from Kilkenny City or from Junction 9 on the M9 motorway the race boasts a convenient location. Ample secure parking is also provided on site.
Registration, which starts at €15 for the 5km and goes to €35 for the half-marathon, can be completed at jjreddydanesfortrun.com
