Callan golf club Captains Jim Kehoe and Betty McGrath will be aiming to dish up a night of great food and craic when they hold their dinner in the clubhouse at Callan GC at 8pm on Saturday, November 17.

The Champions Cup will be held at Mountain View GC this Sunday, with tee times running from 8.20 to 9.20am.

CHARITY: The ladies club are hosting an open charity event in memory of the late Ann Murphy on Sunday, October 21. The competition, a three-person scramble (at least one lady per team) will have a shotgun start at 11am.
Entry fee is €30 per team, with team registration available from 056-7768122. All proceeds from this event are being donated to the Stroke Unit, St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.
BEREAVED: Sympathy went from the management, staff and club members to Simon Williams, who has been bereaved by the recent death of his mother.

SENIORS: Mixed weather and a runaway victory was the verdict from Thursday’s seniors outing at New Ross GC.
Twelve teams took part in drizzly rain, but with the course and greens coming back to their normal high standard all enjoyed their weekly get-together.
Competition winners were Dick Cuddihy (12), Willie Whitty (18), Kenny Irwin (21) and Martin Burke (25) with a great score of 98 points.
They set the standard on the first nine holes, clocking up a fantastic 52 points. Adding 46 points on the home stretch they were clear victors on the day.
It took all sorts of count backs before second and third positions could be decided. In the end a better last three holes total, (13/12) gave the runners-up spot to Jim ‘Ross’ Ryan (17), Pat Traynor (18), Mick Long (21) and Pat Kehoe (25) with 92 points. On the same score (92 points) and placed third were Martin McGrath (15), Colin Casey (22), Tom Kent (25) and Jim Kehoe (25).
Only one nearest the pin prize was won. That went to Martin Forristal on the 11th hole.
Players are reminded that the draw for teams each week is at 9.40am sharp. Each individual should be in-house well in advance of the cut-off point and remain there until teams are drawn.
Des and Barry Murphy are the club foursomes champions at Borris GC.
The duo beat Martin Bolger and Paul Kielthy in the final.
