Hurling: King Henry is all set to make a comeback for Kilkenny!

Henry Shefflin is set for a return with Kilkenny!

The 10-time senior All-Ireland champion will lead a brigade of black and amber legends into battle against their old foe Tipperary next month.

Some of the biggest names from the game will collide in Borrisoleigh on Saturday, November 3 in a benefit match for Amanda Stapleton - a sister of former Tipp hurler Paddy Stapleton - who was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

The Kilkenny panel will see former players Michael Kavanagh, J.J. Delaney, Jackie Tyrrell, Tommy Walsh, Eddie Brennan and Eoin Larkin link up with some of the present panel including Richie Hogan, Paul Murphy, Padraig Walsh, Liam Blanchfield and Paddy Deegan.

The Tipperary panel is equally as impressive, with plenty of familiar faces. Lining out in the blue and gold will be Brendan Cummins, Lar Corbett, Padraic Maher, James Woodlock, Shane McGrath, Seamus Callanan, Noel McGrath, Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher, Cathal Barrett and James Barry. The side will be managed by Liam Sheedy.

Tickets, priced €22.50 (including booking fee) for adults, with under-16s free, are available from any Centra store or here
