Christmas may be very much on the horizon, but attention will soon switch to the 2023 intercounty season which kicks off with the Walsh Cup when Kilkenny host Offaly in John Locke Park, Callan on Sunday, January 8.

The Cats will then travel to Rathdowney a week later for a meeting with near neighbours Laois before they round off their groups stage pre-season campaign away to Wexford.

The Wexford and Kilkenny tie takes place on Saturday, January 21 with a 6pm throw-in where floodlights will be switched on for the first time at Wexford Park.

Both Wexford and Kilkenny Co Boards have advised supporters to buy tickets as early as possible for the game. Close to 4,000 seats have already been sold, while supporters have also been notified that neither of the terraces behind the goals will be open on the night.
