A freak incident of flooding has been reported in the centre of Thomastown in County Kilkenny.

Kilkenny Live understands that a water pipe has burst, causing an intense flooding incident on Market Street and nearby thoroughfares such as Low Street.

Due to structural damage on the road surface, the bridge is currently not passable.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and divert accordingly.
