Although the weather for the next five days is set to be settled and mostly dry, one clear trend has re-emerged in predictions - frost at night.

Thursday night: Clear spells in the south and east early but cloud will increase from the northwest with some localised outbreaks of light rain and drizzle at times. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, coldest in the southeast but temperatures will rise towards morning, in light northwesterly or variable winds.

Friday: A mix of cloud and hazy bright or sunny spells on Friday. It will be a mostly dry day, with just isolated patches of light rain mostly near northern and western coasts. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in light to moderate northerly winds.

Friday night: Dry with good clear spells early in the night, cloud will increase towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, some mist and fog will develop also in light northerly breezes.

Saturday: Any mist and fog will clear through the morning leaving a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Highs will range from 7 to 10 degrees, coolest in the east, in light northeast to east winds.

Saturday night: Cold and dry on Saturday night with a mix of cloud and clear spells, the best of which will be in the north and west, where it will be coldest, lows will range from 0 to 4 degrees, but remaining a little milder along eastern coasts in light easterly winds.

Sunday: Cool and dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees in light to moderate east to southeast winds

Further Outlook: Currently it looks to remaining cool and mostly dry early next week, with some sunny spells and just the chance of a few isolated showers mostly in the east, while some frosty nights can be expected.
