Those looking for some prolonged heat and sun in Kilkenny might just have to make the most of next Thursday (August 10), judging by a leading weather forecasting model.
In a recent social media post, Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather told followers that 'summer could be on a Thursday this year'.
"Latest ECMWF model update shows a very brief blast of warm air and sunshine next Thursday the 10th. However by the 11th heat and sunshine are gone," he told followers.
In the meantime, there could be some very stormy conditions over the Bank Holiday Weekend (tap article above for more).
