A Status Yellow Rain Warning for Kilkenny has been issued for tomorrow - Friday.
The Met Eireann Alert also applies to Leinster, Munster and Galway.
Forecasters warned of heavy rain with thundery downpours on Friday.
Potential impacts such as spot flooding and difficult travelling conditions have been predicted.
The warning is valid from 4pm on Friday to midnight on Saturday morning.
