A status yellow wind warning, which applies to Munster and Leinster, will take effect from 7am on Wednesday and will remain in place until midnight on Thursday.

A separate status yellow rain warning will come into effect at the same time on Wednesday for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Heavy is expected and potential impacts include difficult travel conditions, localised flooding and poor visibility.
