Ballyfoyle Road in Kilkenny
Incidents of flooding due to heavy rainfall are continuing to grow across Kilkenny, with beleaguered homeowners rushing to secure their properties amid the deluge.
The Ballyfoyle Road on the outskirts of Kilkenny City is currently impassable due to severe flooding in the area. A culvert was unable to cope with the additional water and the stream burst its banks. A fire crew is now on site.
In South Kilkenny, Kilkenny Live has been told conditions in Glenmore village have 'worsened considerably' in the past hour, while the townsland of Rahora in Tullogher and the R704, Listerlin to Tullogher road are both believed to be experiencing severe flooding.
Elsewhere, parts of Callan are also being impacted by the adverse weather conditions and a council spokesperson has confirmed sandbags are available to businesses and members of the public who require them.
