A 'Status Orange' snow-ice warning has been issued for Kilkenny, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wicklow, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.

Met Éireann are warning that 'significant snowfall accumulations' are expected.

They are also warning of potential impacts such as very difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, travel disruption delays to public transport likely (air, rail, bus), difficult conditions underfoot and animal welfare issues.

The warning comes into effect from 5pm Saturday and is valid until 5pm Sunday.
