Orange warning issued for Kilkenny, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway, Roscommon and Tipperary
A new status orange low temperature-ice warning has been issued for Kilkenny, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway, Roscommon and Tipperary.
Met Eireann warn that it will be extremely cold with widespread severe frost and ice, along with lying snow in some areas. Patches of freezing fog also.

Other potential impacts include dangerous travelling conditions, travel disruption and delays, animal welfare issues and poor visibility.
The warning is valid from 7pm on Thursday until 8am on Friday morning.
