"Sun dogs visible over Kilkenny this evening," he posted.

According to Met Éireann, "Sundogs are an atmospheric optical phenomena caused by light refracting off ice crystals contained in high level cirrus clouds, and appear as bright spots either side of the sun."

Sometimes, if the conditions are right, viewers may even catch a full halo encircling the sun.

Did you spot them? Or take any pics? Let us know.
