Met Éireann warns of washout week ahead in horrendous weather update
More wet and windy weather is on its way for the week ahead according to Met Éireann's latest forecast.
The unsettled conditions look set to persist throughout the week, with Met Éireann even predicting that more wind and rain could be on its way for the weekend.
Here is a detailed look at Met Éireann's five-day forecast.
Showers in Atlantic coastal areas will start to spread eastward in the afternoon and evening which may turn heavy with a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.
Monday night will see cloud start to build from the west early on with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle which could turn heavy in the southwest. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.

Tuesday will be off to a dull and breezy start with outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving northeastwards. Conditions will start to brighten in the early afternoon with some sunny spells, although scattered showers will persist. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees, milder in Munster with highs of 19 to 20 degrees.
Tuesday night will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving into Atlantic counties, becoming widespread towards the morning. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
Wednesday will see further outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving northeastwards through the morning and early afternoon, with scattered showers and sunny spells following from the west. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.
Wednesday night will see scattered showers become largely confined to Atlantic coastal counties which will turn heavy at times. It will be mostly dry elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.
Thursday will be another wet day with sunny spells and scattered showers feeding in from the west which will turn heavy at times. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees.
Friday appears to be another breezy day of sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees.
Met Éireann's further outlook predicts that the unsettled weather will persist through the weekend with more wet and windy conditions on the way.
