Jesse Jennings is one of three artists making their way over from the Lone Star State to perform at this year's Roots Festival in Kilkenny
As Kilkenny gets ready to welcome thousands of music lovers and musicians from all over the world for this weekend's Roots Festival, three Texan musicians are very excited about hitting the Marble City.
In recent years a strong bond has emerged between Texan musicians and Kilkenny with the Texas Tornado Tour making a stop here annually.
Over one-hundred music lovers and musicians from Texas will base themselves in Kilkenny this coming August for two weeks and we will get a small sample with three visiting musicians during The Roots Festival.
Jesse Jennings, Dusty Moats and Jake Williams will perform for one night only in Rafter Dempseys on Friary Street as part of The Roots Festivals free music trail.
They will hit the stage at 10pm and you can expect a taste Fort Worth’s finest country music.
INTRODUCING THE ARTISTS
Jesse Jennings (pictured above) is a Fort Worth, Texas based country music singer/songwriter who’s been recording and performing music since age seventeen.
When people ask what his music sounds like, Jesse can only respond with “nothing you have ever heard.”
It’s country with a twist! Jesse ‘cut his teeth’ in the music industry performing and touring with The Casey Donahew Band.
He has had the pleasure of opening for acts such as Willie Nelson, Jason Aldean, Casey Donahew, Pat Green, The Josh Abbott Band and The Eli Young Band.
His harmonic voice can be heard on albums including Casey Donahew, Aaron Copeland, Jamie Richards and more.
His new album, The Last Dance, features the hit single “Moonshine” along with seven other original tracks.
Dusty Moats is a Texas country music artist also hailing from Fort Worth, Texas.
He has been making music since his teenage years and has established himself a well-respected artist in the Texas country music scene.
His unique blend of 90s style country and rock influences, combined with his honest, heartfelt, and even playful lyrics, has earned him a dedicated following and well-deserved critical acclaim.
He has released multiple Top 40 songs to Texas Radio and multiple Top 100 Singles to National Radio, including his current single, 'Honky Tonk Ways', which reached #1 on one of the Texas charts.
Jake Williams’ life has been heavily influenced by the grounds of Shreveport, Louisiana and Karnack, Texas.
That is where he not only grew up, but he grew to love country music but even more so, playing and writing country music.
Jake considers himself a backwoods boy at heart.
Herding cattle, riding horses and working on the ranch is a life all too familiar to him; but so is one with country music.
In high school, he began playing at local restaurants and events and has now ventured out to festivals and large venues of Texas and Louisiana to perform.
Most recently, Jake’s single 'Nothin Bout That' was released and recorded by Rosewood Studios in Tyler, Texas.
The single is available for listen on all major music listening streams.
This is one gig not to be missed as these musicians are simply passing through Kilkenny while on a UK and Irish tour, but you can rest assured that Kilkenny will be awash with Texan musicians for the last week of August and the first week of September.
Come along to Rafter Dempseys on Saturday at 10pm and sample what’s in store.
